I had to finish up painting the top half today. That took a while because we had a wall that I had to really stretch to reach it. I was very careful because I didn't want to fall into a bunch of paint. I took me a few hours to finish the top portion but I finished it. After letting it dry a little I returned to do the second coat of it all. That one didn't take that much time. When I looked at it right before we closed it turned out really good. Now all I have to do is paint the strip across the room and also paint the doors a white type color. After that I have to put up a set of posters across the wall.

Today I got to start painting the room. Of course before I could start I had to sand down the purdy that I had placed on the room yesterday. That didn't take that long. After I laid down some plastic on the ground of the room and tape them together to preserve the floor I started painting. I was only able to complete one coat on the bottom half. Tomorrow I'll be able to do the top portion because I'll have more time to do so.

Today we had to get the supplies for the room. We had to get paint, rollers, purdy, and painting tape. My supervisor and I went to Lowes and bought the supplies and made our way back. This was done later on during the day. Before I even started we had shipment come in. After I helped with shipment I got started putting purdy in the holes that were in the room. After I did that I couldn't paint until 1 to 5 hours after it dries. By that time I had to leave for work so it all worked out.

It's Easter and yes we are open. The entire time I was there we only had a few people come in. So most of my time I just cleaned the store and move some of the stuff in the changing room around so that we lower the risk of theft by having the shoes in the room. I calculated how much square ft. the room was and my supervisor was suppose to leave me some money to go out and buy some paint and puddy to fill some of the holes. Also we have a couple of pictures that show a skater doing a trick in motion. He wants me to put them on something to look more fashion. Thumbtacks work but for only so long. Also not all the pictures are one length so I must make sure that are all one length.

Today I was giving a huge project to accomplish. We have a changing room in the back that isn't the best place to change in. We also have a couple of shows that should be in the back. Well actually I have two projects. The changing room one is to repaint the room so that sales will boost up a little bit in clothing. I've already took measurements of the square ft. of the room so to see how much paint we need to get. Another project I'm going to help on is building higher shevles for the back room where we have the shoes. My carpentry isn't the best but I've bulid boxes but I'm just going to help out with it.

We got a huge shipment of LRGs in. They are a clothing company tied to skateboarding. After we took them out and checked them off the invoice we had to put them on hangers and put them on display. This was like a game of Tetris because we had limited space to work with. We ended up taking down a lot of clothing and puting it elsewhere and have an entire wall just for the LRGs. We believe that half out store is actually the LRG company and the rest is everything else. The best part is that LRGs do sell a lot. All that took up some of the time I was there. The rest of the time was dedicated to the customers that came in. However nothing new to report.

Nothing new to repor today. I had to run some errands for the shop today but it was to advertise the game of SKATE. When I got back we had a small shipment of blank decks so we put them up and price them.

Today was very slow. Everybody that came in was there to either look around or talk. I however got to clean the store a little bit because we were that slow but it gives me great experience in the shop. We use that time to make sure everything is on display and the store is neat. Everything I would go into a shop before I started my internship I would always see them sitting around; now I know why that is. It's not easy like people think it is.

We had shipment come in today. It was a small order compared to last weeks but nothing we couldn't handle. I also got to work on my customer relations today again. I'm getting a lot better at it. I guess because I always have to it it became easy. Other than that nothing new to report.

Well its getting awful close to the end of the internship. I've had a blast working with the shop and meeting so many people who skate. I know skateboarding was huge in Fayetteville but I never knew it was that huge. Today was an easy day. All I had to do was help greet and talk to customers and apply the grip tape if needed.

Today was the same thing after we get a shipment, we sell. Also just cleaned up the store a little bit before the customers started to show up. Other than that nothing new to report.

Today was an amazing day. We got a huge shipment in today. We loaded up on trucks, decks, and wheels. We also got a shipment of well awaited shop decks. I had to get one of those myself. Anyways I got to do the invoice, price and work on display again. The only part that's hard, not really, is the display because we try to match the companies on display. Since we have over 26 decks over to fit on the wall we have then stacked up behind the counter. I always feel like a kid in a candy store everytime we get a shipment in.

Today wasn't really a business day. I did however get to assist a customer in his need. He was wanting some Nike SB and was curious in how they felt. So i went into the back and got the shoes so he could try them on. He was so pleased with him he got them. Other than that nothing new to report.

Business was slow at first but around 2 o'clock business started to pick up. I made a couple of sales to help out a little as well. Before all that happen I cleaned up the store by cleaning the windows but thats all the time I had before the customers. Other than all that nothing new to report.

We had a shipment come in today. We had decks, pants, trucks, bearing, and a bunch of stickers come in today. I also learned how they priced their products. It's based on how much they can get for it and how much the customer is willing to pay for it. There is something else that goes along with it but I'm not allowed to say. After everything was priced they were ready to be displayed. That took forever because I have limited space to work with and a bunch of stickers and patches to put up. I finally did it.

Nothing new to report. I got to work on my sale representative skills once again this week. I'm getting more used to it so I'm not so nervious. It makes it so easier knowing the product.

On these days we were a litttle slow and we mainly do a lot of cleaning during these times and make sure everything looks neat. When customers did come in I was helped out a little bit. I'm still working on my customer relations but I've actually made a couple of sales. It's kinda easy when they know what they want but it make me feel really good to help them out if they don't have a question. I actually get to meet a lot of parents who used to skate and hear stories of how the board used to be shaped and start to compare skating now and then. Best internship I've ever got to do.

Today we did a lot cleaning. I swept while others mopped and wiped down everything. Today was a little slower but I got work my customer relations once again. I really want to excel because I love skateboarding so much. I believe the more I do it the more it will become natural.

We got hit once again with customers today. It wasn't as much as yesterday but I got to work on my customer relations again. I'm getting more used to it but I'm still learning all the things we do at the shop. I got to help put an item on layaway for a customers and got a little more information on how we do layaway. I really want to be at the shop all day but I still work at night so its difficult to do so. I'll get my chance someday.

With the ice storm that came through I couldn't make it to the intern for awhile until today. When I arrived we received a huge shoe order from Vox. We had to price them and I had to lace up the left shoe of each one. Those were the ones to be displayed out. After I did that I had to take the remaining ones and shelf them in the back. In order to do that me and my co worker had to move some shoes around to make room for the new products. It took a little planning but thanks to Tetris we were able to figure it out. After that was done we got hit with loads of customers. I got to be a little sales representative today and made a couple of sales. It kinda weird to do that because I'm not used to do that but since I have so much knowledge about it, it made it easier. I just got to remember the retail prices on certain items.

I didn't expect to have anything going today at the shop but I was really surprised. With everybody out of school the shop had skaters come hang out and it turned into a huge skate session at the shop. We took pictures and had a really great time.

Today we got a huge shipment of medium size decks because many of our customers were asking about them. We actually had a lot of new merchandise we are trying to see how fast and well they sell. We got a new type of truck and bearings in today so we are going to have to wait and see.

Once again nothing new for me but we order some new items so hopefully we get those items so I can put it up and do the invoice. I actually enjoy doing the shipment part of it all. Seeing all the new merchandise I feel a kid in a candy store.

I had to call it early today because I had to get everything for school in order. All I did today was take a little test about what type of person I am. By that I mean how I communicate or how i process information. After taking the test I found out that I'm a fieldmarshall. I analyze situation very carefully before I act on a situation and it also said others like me to include Bill Gates. Nothing new though just greated customers and assited them in any way possible.

Nothing new once again at DaVille skate shop. Except for a new skate contest that we are planning. We're going to have 26 skaters play at game of SKATE on the 26 of January at 6. It's still the planning stages but once we get all the kinks out will start letting others know.

Today was a treat as got a visit from a sales representative from Etnies which is a very well known shoe company in skateboarding. He was very knowledgeable in all the shoes and the new and old features the shoes had. My supervisor was thinking about what to buy and what the customer would buy what would stand out. I was listening to that but I couldn't help but notice the way he was making his sale. I've never really been in a situation where someone who showing the product to make a sale. To see the sales representative and owner talk about the shoes make me realize even more what it takes to run a skate shop. I took that as a really good experience to be apart of. Other than that it was just yesterday. Greeted the customer and help in any way I could.

Today I got to take it really easy today. I actually had a project to complete today which I thought was awesome. I was given little flyers for a skate video premiere at the shop. I was handed about 2 stacks. My job was to hit every skate place where skaters and skate magazines were and place these flyers around or inside the magazine. My first spot was in Books-A-Million and the Barnes and Nobles and my last spot was at Double Decker Skate Park downtown. All went well until I went to Double Decker because its closed until 3. It was kinda cool how we free advertise to other skaters buy doing that.

Today all I did was give my supervisor the inventory list and got to take a little easy today. My supervisor had to of his employees double check the list to see if anything was missing. They were an extra set of eyes and I was the person on the floor. Since school started today nobody really came in. If I every get a day off from my other job I'll actually get to see how they close. I was told to come in tomorrow but I have no clue what is left to do but everyday I do something else.

Today I had to take the inventory list and actually make it into spreadsheets within the Excel program. Each Spreadsheet was something different, for instance I had one section that were completes and others were t-shirts, pants, etc. I had to make an entire Whole Sale total, Retail total, and Quantity total on each spreadsheet. It took me several hours to actually complete but I finally got it done. I'll give my supervisor the list tomorrow and see what he wants to complete next.

Today I finished up what I could for the end of the year inventory. I did the belts, beanies, hats, stickers, and wax. My supervisor will finish up the decks, trucks, and other pieces of hardware because those will continue to sell up until DaVille closes.

Today was day two of my inventory list. Today I wrote down t-shirts, hoodies, and shoes. The shoes took me the longest to do. I wanted to get down with it so fast because they were stored inside a very cold room. I remember my hand hurting very badly because of writing so much.

Today I got to start an inventory list for a end of the year inventory for Terry, who is my supervisor and owner of DaVille Skate Shop. I had to group each item by type and brand. So say like the type would be a long board and the brand is a Sector 9. Right beside that I had to give a brief description of the graphic. Next was the whole sale price and the total retail price if it was more than one of the same thing. Then lastly was the retail price. Today I had enough time to do the longboards, bookbags, and pants. I still got to do complete set ups, t-shirts, hoodies, and accessories.
